Section 1-56. Compensation of Personnel Determined by Ordinance.
- The compensation of certain officers shall be set by Ordinance pursuant to the provisions of Title 11, Section 12-113 of the Oklahoma State Statutes. The compensation of each of the following shall be as respectively indicated.
- Town Clerk – $600 per month
- The Board of Trustees shall have the authority, by either motion or resolution, to determine the compensation of all other officers and employees of the Town.
- The Town Clerk, Utility Clerk, or the Town Treasurer may further be reimbursed the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) per pay period for those expenses that normally occur but for which it is unreasonable to maintain receipts and records, such as bank deposit trips.
- Employees and officers of the Town may be reimbursed for travel and other expenses incurred in relation to Town business under and according to current Internal Revenue Service guidelines.
Section 1-57. Compensation: When Set By Motion or Resolution; Number and Classes of Personnel.
- The compensation of all other officers and employees excepting those whose compensation the law required to be set by ordinance, may be determined by motion or resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees, and may be changed at any time in the same manner.
- Except as the law provides otherwise, the Board of Trustees may determine or regulate the number and classes of officers and employees.
Section 1-58. Salaries of Certain Officers Not to be Changed After Election or Appointment.
In no case shall the salary or emoluments of any town officer elected or appointed for a definite term be changed after his election or appointment or during his term of office unless by operation of an ordinance passed prior to such election or appointment or provided that such change does not violate the provisions of Article 23, Section 10 of the Oklahoma Constitution, provided that this shall not apply to officers chosen for indefinite terms not to employees.
