Section 1-8A. Utility Clerk: Appointment

There is hereby created the position of Utility Clerk of the Town of Tryon, which position shall be filled by appointment by the town Board of Trustees. As used in this Article, unless the context requires a different meaning, the following words shall mean;

  1. “Clerk” means the appointed Utility Clerk of this municipality including a deputy or member of the Office of the Utility Clerk, all performing duties of the Utility Clerk’s Office;
  2. The Utility Clerk shall have all duties, powers and responsibilities set forth in Chapter 19 of the Ordinances, and anywhere the said Chapter 19 refers to the Town Clerk, any such references shall be construed to mean the Utility Clerk.
