Section 1-9. Town Treasurer: Election
- The Town Treasurer shall be elected by the qualified electors of the Town of Tryon pursuant to the provisions of Section 1-1 of the Tryon Town Code.
- When the words “Treasurer” or “Town Treasurer” are used in the code, or in other ordinances of the Town of Tryon, shall mean the town Treasurer of the Town of Tryon, unless another meaning is clearly indicated.
Section 1-10. Town Treasurer Duties.
The Town Treasurer shall be an officer of the Town of Tryon as provided by Title 11, Section 12-110 of the Oklahoma Statutes. The Town Treasurer shall have the following duties as prescribed by the Oklahoma Statutes.
- The Town Treasurer shall maintain accounts and books to show where and from what source all monies paid to him have been derived and to whom and when any monies have been paid.
- The Town Treasurer shall deposit daily funds received by the Town in depositories as the Board of Trustees may designate.
- The Town Treasurer shall have such other powers, duties and functions related to his Statutory duties as may be prescribed by law or by ordinance. The person who serves as Town Treasurer may be employed by the Town to perform duties not related to his position as Town Treasurer. The salary, if any, for said duties shall be provided for separately by ordinance.
- The books and accounts of the Town Treasures shall be subject at all times to examination by the Board of Trustees.
