Section 6-11. Trustees and Other Officers: Purchases, Contracts, Etc.

  1. No Member of the Board of Trustees of the Town may sell or furnish for consideration, any materials or supplies for use of the Town; and any member of the Board voting for, or consenting to, or being a party to, such contract or purchase is personally liable as provided by Title 62, Section 372 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
  2. The Board of Trustees of the Town shall not make any contract with any of its members, or in which any of its members shall be directly or indirectly interested, such contracts being prohibited by Title 62, Section 371 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
  3. No member of the Board of Trustees or any other elected officer of the Town may contract for and purchase or issue purchase authorization for any supplies, materials, labor, or equipment until specifically approved by the Board of Trustees.
  4. No officer of the Town may become directly or indirectly interested individually in any sale, lease, or contract which he is authorized to make, such being prohibited by Title 21, Section 344 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

Section 6-12. Purchases, Leases, Sales, Lease of Town Property.

  1. All purchases of supplies, materials, equipment, and contractual services for the Town, and any sales thereof by the Town, shall be made by the Board of Trustees, or pursuant to authorizations granted by it, and subject to its supervision and control and subject to the provisions of this Chapter.
  2. The Town of Tryon is authorized to rent on a monthly basis real property or equipment and to pay the rental charges thereon for usage during any fiscal period or portion thereof, provided such payment be made out of appropriations made and approved for such purpose for such fiscal year, it being the intention hereof that the Town of Tryon complies with the provisions of Title 62, Section 430.2 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
  3. The Board of Trustees is authorized to enter into agreements for the use of the Town-owned property provided that said use will benefit the general health, safety, and welfare and further provided that any such agreement shall be in conformity with Oklahoma Statutes.
