Section 6-3. Notice and Time of Sale.
- Whenever the Town concludes to sell surplus, obsolete, abandoned, or discarded supplies, materials, and equipment, or products, or by-products of the Town, and the value of any article, or lot of articles to be sold together amounts to five hundred dollars ($500.00) or more, it shall sell such articles upon competitive open bids after giving notice of the time, place, and subject of the sale, either through circulars mailed to the proprietors of businesses operating in Tryon and the vicinity which may be interested in procuring such types of articles or by publishing similar notice of the sale in one or more issues of a weekly newspaper distributed in said Town.
- Such sale shall be held not earlier than five (5) days after such notice has been mailed to the prospective purchasers, or five (5) days after the date of the last publication of the notice in a weekly newspaper.
